HI Rita..
I do like Frankie Lymon and The Teenages but they were not considered Doo Wopp and they say that on stage this day. So that is why I did not put them in the Doo Wopp song thingy.. I love The Skyliners and The Duprees but do not consider them Doo Wopp either..
Guess it is how we interpet the word Doo Wopp. It is a ruff word and many groups do not like to be branded that some even take offence to it.. Thanks for the triva always love hearing it from the people that lived it.. My cousin use to dance on American Bandstand .. Her and her girlfriend. That was cool to watch them on TV growing up.. Being in a music family and playing in 2 grups my self in the 60s and 70s I have learned much about the music of yesterday, and also what I pick up from fans of the music like your self and I thank you very much..

Hi Rita,
I read that you grew up by the Capris. I went to Adams in OZ and Frankie from the Capris worked at JFK with quite a few of us Adamsits too! Danced away many Friday nights at St. Michaels in Bklyn and Sunday afternoons at Chellis Hall in Jamaica. Played street games well into our teens too! I remember playing touch football wearing a straight skirt, stickball too! Tore a skirt all the way up the the waist running the bases, but hey, it was a home run!!! Nice to see some nostalgia on the web.
Sincerely,
Lorraine
Thanks For The Wonderful Comment you left.. Yeah the music is in the blood with me too. I love doing my show and I feel if it makes me feel good doing it and spinning the music then I am making someone else feel good to..
I hope you can tune in some night.. links are on my website at www.doowoptommy.com

Yes we grew up in the treasured times. My girlfriend of 50 years was just down here visiting me and we share the same memories like you. Welcome to my Son Matt's site.
