The Bronx was the Best. Matter of Fact, Shari Lewis' mom was the music teacher at PS 106. Miss Horowitz. When I grew up I wound up back in the Bronx as a Dean at Castle Hill Junior High School. My parents met at Castle Hill Pool, as my father was an avid Handball Hustler, chuckle. My grandfather was the first autowrecker in the Bronx and had Soundview Auto Wreckers in 1909. Yep my roots are in the Bronx even though I sing with a Brooklyn Group, George Galfos Mystics.
My most daring feat was going down Suicide Hill on my bike. It beat bungee jumping hands down.
Also Lambiase's Italian Ices on Starling Ave or shopping at Fisher Beers dept store. I could go on and on, but you guys get the drift. Once a Bronx guy always a bronx guy
