"It" would turn their back and say that, and everyone tried to run and get closest before It turned around. If you weren't frozen when they turned around and saw you, you were out. The winner was the one who got to tag It. This was a great sidewalk game, when the street was too busy.

Yes, Red Rover, Johnny on a Pony, I Declare War we definitely played in front of our building. When we wanted to kick it up a notch, we would use the building's back way to hide a belt for a game called "Hot Peas & Butter" (Come and Get Your Supper!) Lord help you if the kid next to you found the belt before you did. You would plea for mercy as everyone else ran away.; ▶ Reply to This
