Anyone play Punch ball. Each neighborhood had their court with their rules. We use to play for a dime a man (Quarter if it were a big games) Big games were always played by St. Rita's School, In East New York Section Of Brooklyn , because there were no cars & the court was neutral.

Spauldeen's had a grand variety of games that could be played, both by boys & girls.

Against the wall, A my name is Alice, punch ball, hit the penny, handball with a tennis racket & of course a 'Spauldeen'.

Stick Ball #1. StoopBall, I declare war, Punch Ball, Went to the corner candy store to pick out a Spaldeen, The owner would let us grab a handful and bounce them side by side to see which one bounced the highest. Of course we bought the one that bounced highest. ( loved those Spaldeen's )

I remember a spaldeen knockoff that was something like sky bounce or super bounce within a cloud.

Pennsy Pinkie was the other--not quite as good!

Spaldeens were the best! Every so often my mom would get me a new ball, thinking that every ball is the same, I guess. What a bummer it was if I didn't see the Spaldeen label. None of the other balls had the same bounce and seemed to be 'dead' right away.

If you didn't have a Spaldeen, you didn't live in NYC

Handball of course! It's the best way to use a Spaldeen.
