New York Street Games - The Movie

Anyone here from outside of Parkchester? Leland Avenue between Westchester Avenue and Gleason Ave? I remember Father Dollan from Blessed Sacrament who married most of my friends. Anyone attend James Monroe H.S.? Some of the kids from the area also attended St. Helena's H.S., JHS 125, P.S. 47x? Anyone out there? Remember the Circle Theatre?, Lowes American in Parkchester? Lowes Paradise on the Grand Concourse? Jahn's? Pakula's Bakery? Remember Krum's and the kitchen sink ice cream?

How about inside Parkchester and went to James Monroe? Graduated in '62. Went to JHS 127 and PS 102. I remember the theaters, as well as the Palace on Unionport Road, Pakulas, the kitchen sink at Jahn's and the rest.

I lived on Watson ave & White Plains road....I went to P.S. 36 then to JHS 125. I then moved to White Plains road & Lafayette. At that time my mother shipped me out to my Aunt in Michigan...to save me from the Ghetto!

I went to JHS 125. Do you remember Mr. O'Rourke, Ms. Gaither?

I am from inside Parkchester. Metropolitan Ave I attended P.S. 106, JHS 127 and Columbus High School. The Lowes American, Palace, and Circle were places I always went to. Pakula's was the best bakery. Used to go to Krums and Jahn's after shopping at Alexanders and the Lowes Paradise. My memories are very close to my heart.

I grew up on Archer Road and went to PS 102, JHS 127 & Monroe. What year did you graduate? I agree about all the places you mentioned but was also partial to Zaro's when it opened.

Oh yes, I remember the Circle, what about the palace and the $2 Karate Flicks. Oh boy, the things that went on in that theater.

Grew up by Zerega, but many of my friends from PS 106 and JHS 127 were from Parkchester. Also had a crush on a girl who lived on Rosedale. Spent every Saturday at Parkchester Bowl (Chester House!), usually winding up walking either to or from Zerega and Westchester Av.
