Stop! Your making me very melancholy for the old days. I certainly did not appreciate them then, but sure do now. Punchball, stickball, Hide and seek. My Son Matt made this documentary to honor those great and yet simple days. Rock on!
I ate hundreds of white castles, and got my ice cream from Jimmy the bungalow bar ice cream man, lived on manor between watson and bruckner, across a vacant lot from 123.played a lot of johnny on the pony and anything that was physical
Hi all. Just came across the site. Born and raised in the Bronx. first Hoe Ave 'tween 172nd and Jennings, then Patterson Projects 142 and Morris Ave. Went to PS 50, 54, JHS 98 (Herman Ridder) on Boston Road. was called the Terror school in the newspapers after one of the teacher strikes. Then Music and Art HS in Manhattan.
Most of my neighborhood was leveled and now there are 2 family homes there. Gotta wonder what happened to all those families. from 30 per building to 2 per lot.
